An Icon vs A Character
Very recently, the most known bat in the world celebrated 80 years. 80 years of age! That’s quite a landmark for a character, considering the quick pace we live in today, where so many brilliant characters fade and disappear in the middle of so much noise.
That’s the difference between an icon and a character. Icons endure the challenges of time. And Batman has been put through a lot. Still, here he is, strong and young!
Make him a Collectible
Batman has been portrayed in statues, action figures, mugs, cookie jars and all the paraphernalia of collectibles and merchandising we can possibly imagine. Luckily for me, and I’m sure for plenty of you too, videogames have more and more Collector’s Edition.
So, when Batman Arkham Knight launched, opportunity presented itself. The game would be no exception, a Collector’s Edition had to be done. Despite being released in June 2015, you shouldn’t despise this edition. Here’s why.

Around 4 months ago, I’ve uploaded to our YouTube channel another episode of “The Unboxables” (our YouTube series where we unbox videogames Collector’s Editions). It’s all about Batman of course. I must add that it was pure coincidence that it launched so close to the Bat’s 80th birthday. My intuition knew it was a good timing đ
As I usually do, after launching an episode of the series on Sofa Gamers YT channel, I take advantage of our blog to share even more of that unboxing session.
Today I’m sharing with you pictures of all the contents of this edition, with particular attention to the artbook (yep, all pages of it). There are two reasons why I’m doing that: first, while unboxing the collector’s edition I won’t be bothering the viewers with aaaaaaall the book’s pages; second, because this way you can sit down, chill and now enjoy them in a different format of visual information.
I hope you enjoy it as much as I did! Oh, one final note, in case you didn’t watch my video, an artbook this size in a collector’s ed. this big is a rarity nowadays! They are usually pretty small. So double reason to take advantage of this moment đ
