PlayStation Plus Free Games in November 2019

Let’s go straight to the point here, this month’s games are Nioh & Outlast. I never played Outlast, but I played Nioh’s Demo prior to launch and it seemed a pretty solid game. So much, that they’re releasing Nioh 2 early next year! In the last few months Playstation has been absolutely killin’ it with their PS Plus Free Games lineup. Last month we had The Last of Us Remastered & MLB The Show’19, the previous month Batman Arkham Knight & Darksiders 3. In August, Wipeout Omega Collection & Sniper Elite 4. And now Nioh and Outlast! Just WOW!!!

Nioh

NiohIn case you never heard of, which is very unlikely if you’re a gamer, Nioh was originally launched in February 7 2017. That’s almost 2 years now. As stated by the Playstation Blog in the US:

Nioh is a visceral, action-driven adventure where you must hone your skills, upgrade your weapons and demonstrate perseverance and mastery in besting some of ancient Japan’s fiercest demons. Travel to the blood-soaked Sengoku period and take on the role of an embattled outsider as you fight to liberate a guardian spirit from the clutches of a power-hungry sorcerer.

There’s plenty of swords, spears, shuriken, bows, rifles, powerful elemental magic and many more stuff to make you the ultimate samurai warrior. When I tried Nioh’s demo back in the day, it had a strong touch of Dark Souls in the combat system. We have more and more games these days that get inspiration from DS, and the Souls like genre seems to be thriving. Hope you enjoy this adventure in Japan!

Outlast

Horror games are my handicap. I play most videogames genres, but I always skip the horror titles. Except if it’s Alien: Isolation. You know, because I’m a big fan of the Alien saga. The closest I might get to a horror title, is playing Prey or Diablo 3 (an absolute favourite).

But, as I stated in the beginning, I never played Outlast. I believe it’s better to hear from the experts of the EU Playstation Blog to summarise it:

Immerse yourself in a desperate fight for survival in an isolated rural community as you attempt to rescue your kidnapped wife from the clutches of a deranged cult.

Having narrowly escaped death in a helicopter crash, set out into the rundown village of Temple Gate and do your best to avoid its crazed inhabitants as you fight to locate your partner.

Haunted by your troubled past, look for answers as you uncover the ever more disturbing secrets lurking beneath the town and the twisted ambitions of its charismatic leader.

This is a lot to deal with…

Hope you guys enjoy this month’s games! Ah, in Portugal, and I believe for the rest of Europe too, I got also offered to download Strikers Edge. Who doesn’t love more free stuff? 😉
