No Man’s Sky 2.0 – Sean Murray tells you everything you need to know about Beyond

Hello peeps, Beximus here!
Ok, before I start babbling about No Man’s Sky 2.0, let’s just hear Sean Murray. He will tell you everything you need to know about the Beyond update!

No Man’s Sky 2.0

no man's sky 2.0 beyond landscapeIn a previous NMS post, I already stated the first 2 of 3 aspects being covered by Beyond.  What we didn’t know yet and Murray just revealed, was pillar number 3 of this update: No Man’s Sky 2.0

But what da heck does that even mean? Well, for starters, I advise you to take a quick look at the Pathfinder Update and the Atlas Rises Update (my favourite of them all so far, and where I’ve spent most hours playing).

Seeing how the game was back then, what it offered in terms of gameplay and the new additions each of those previous updates brought, will give you more perspective about No Man’s Sky 2.0. After that trip down memory lane, comeback here and compare it with Beyond (and we don’t even know it all).

Here’s a breakdown

no man's sky 2.0 beyond nexusFrom what I could wrap up from the Sean Murray interview with IGN, going 2.0 means:

  • deeper base building (loads of stuff to even mention);
  • the Nexus, a galactic hub where up to 35 players can go to play online in multiplayer;
  • players can see your base if featured in the Nexus
  • creature farming (you’ll be able to milk creatures or grow creatures to ride them);
  • creature riding;
  • a different galactic map;
  • overhauled discovery page;
  • a new word system for those who love to explore;
  • alien NPCs will be walking around on planets and you can meet them;
  • new missions/quests;
  • and much, much more (let’s wait for those patch notes 🙂 I’ll be keeping you guys updated).

In other words, the third pillar of Beyond will overhaul plenty of the things we are accustomed to, as it happened in previous updates. To read the official announcement in the No Man’s Sky official website, please follow the link.

As Sean Murray said:

We are trying to wrap together so many updates from the last 3 years to one whole. And we will continue to update from there (…)

Guys, I’m really excited about this! It has been quite a ride watching this game shift from what it was at launch (already a good game in my opinion) into the gem it is today. Nonetheless, Hello Games was able to deliver even better, and as always, everything is for free! I’m outta words, honestly. Wow… just wow!
