Need For Speed Heat news + trailer

Today’s news totally caught me by surprise. Last night, when I was about to go to bed I saw an IG video. A thought crossed my mind, “what are all these cars and neons and racing in cities?”… I didn’t know what it was. As I kept watching until the the end, more and more of it started clicking in my brain: “Wait a minute… this is a NEW NFS videogame!” Yes, it was Need For Speed Heat.
The Heat is on!
When it comes to car games, Need For Speed is a benchmark. Wether you like it or no, reality will slap you in the face and prove you wrong. This franchise has more years and consistency than any other street racing title I can remember!
There isn’t much info about Need For Speed Heat yet, only a first trailer that shows the usual fast paced street races, full of adrenaline and flashy twists. Even in the official NFS website, not much is being given away. A new gameplay trailer has been announced there, but we still have to wait 4 days for it when it launches at Gamescom.
What got me more hooked and curious this time, was the neon colour palette the game is betting on at night. I mean, look at those flares in the trailer (I’ll share it in a bit)! The way it contrasts with the cars is stunning and there’s plenty of it in the environment too. That’s the same to say “I wanna jump behind the wheel right away and race all night long!”
Need For Speed Heat launches November 8
EA are pros, you gotta give ’em that. They only announce a game when they are sure they can deliver. November 8 was the date chosen, so that is not that far away. Great new for NFS fans, since Need For Speed Payback came out almost 2 years ago. But in Need For Speed Heat, the story will change. Here’s the moto:
Hustle by day, risk it all at night.
“Turn off the engine, step out of the vehicle”
This is the trailer’s opening line. Meaning, there’ll be cops again and plenty of chasing. Then, there’s a voice-off speaking in Spanish. A cop steps out of his car, praises your ride and tells you to hand him your keys over… right now!
Surely this can’t go right… One last thing that is intriguing me, will we be able to play as racers only or be a cop too like in Need For Speed: Rivals?
Survival of the fastest. No prices for second place. Standing out means becoming a target.
A Collector’s Edition? Hell yeah!
Alright, alright, this caught me off guard too! I can’t remember a NFS Collector’s Ed, so this is great news for me. Because, you know, I’m a collector (you probably noticed that if you keep hanging around). Here’s what’s included:
- Die-cast Hero Car
- Steelbook Case
- A5 Notebook
- 4x NFS Heat Magnets
- 7X NFS Heat stickers
- Premium NFS Cardboard Box
I believe the game’s included too, even if at GAME’s website they’re not mentioning it. That wouldn’t make much sense, right? One thing though, they usually say it’s an exclusive of theirs but then I can find it in different stores here in Portugal. So check with your local retailers or videogames store to know if they’ll have it, because they probably will.
