Assassin’s Creed Odyssey – The Fate of Atlantis Episode 1 – Fields of Elysium
Hello ma peeps, Beximus here!
Assassin’s Creed Odyssey – The Fate Of Atlantis DLC has been fully released with its 3 episodes. Today’s blog is about Episode 1 – Fields of Elysium.
AC Odyssey is a must play
Before jumping into the Fields of Elysium, let me tell you that I finished AC Odyssey’s main story a while ago. It totally blew me away! I never threw myself at writing about it because I would probably bore you to death, talking about how Ancient Greece has mind-blowing landscapes, beauty to be found at every corner and another million reasons why you should drop everything else and play Assassin’s Creed Odyssey right now!
Instead, I kept playing and playing and playing, putting more than 160h in the game! This is the biggest amount of hours I’ve played a current gen videogame. The closest I’ve been to that was with No Man’s Sky. Just keep in mind that, if you never gave it a go, seriously reconsider it because you’ll have a blast! Specially now that Fields of Elysium is out.
Elysium, a façade paradise
Focusing on the last DLC of Odyssey, The Fate of Atlantis, we’re about to live the last episodes of Kassandra’s or Alexios’ journey in the lands of Greece (I always played as Kas). The first episode is called “Fields of Elysium” and you are sent to that paradise (or so it seems) full of deceased people, all living happily in the afterlife.
When I finished the main story of AC Odyssey, my quest led me to the lands of Elysium. I was without playing Odyssey for almost 2 months. Yeah, it’s weird, how could I?… But the first impression I had of it was like “dude, this looks too ethereal and ilidic, it doesn’t feel right…”. And I was right. After that interregnum I learned by my actions that Elysium was truly a f-ed up place! And all because of dear Persephone…
You see, this lady Persephone, wife of Hades – the lord of the underworld, created this world of apparent beauty (it’s GORGEOUS by the way), peace and tranquility. As a goddess, such craft should be easily maintained. But no. Something’s off in these lands and you are the drop of water that makes the vase overflow. Adonis is here. Hermes is here. And you’ll have to play in both teams to escape this vile and corrupted place.
Adonis or Hermes?
Well, if you’re into good looking guys, you’ll have a hard time choosing sides. Therefore, a third option is mandatory. Why not choose both sides? That’s pretty much what you’ll have to do anyway. Without giving too much of the story away in case you didn’t play yet, you’re gonna have to make your way out of Elysium and you wanna do it in the way that plays best for you.
Odyssey is about choices, and the decisions you make affect the end result. But that you already know. Just follow your gut and all will be fine. For you, I mean. Because you’ll be spilling plenty of other people’s guts around, even if they are dead (don’t worry, there are no zombies in Elysium). To know more about the last DLC of Odyssey, go here.
Remember that there is a photomode
Ahhhhhh… this is bliss! I’m so glad more and more videogames now have a photomode. I’ve recently checked the pictures I took in game, and found more than 1000 and still growing 🙂 If you’re like me and enjoy virtual and gaming photography, you’ll sometimes be taking a lot of pictures and playing just for a bit as a side job, haha!
Fortunately, devs started to understand the power gaming photography has and how it can help a game get more visibility and praise from the gaming communities. Plus, it’s big time advertisement for free! They still own the rights and you, the player/photographer, can only share as much as you like. And that is fine for everyone so far.
To show you some of the love I nourish for Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, here are some of my shots from the Fields of Elysium. Enjoy them, share them if you will, and if you wanna credit me thanks in advance. If not, fine too.
