Two Point Hospital is coming to consoles
Hello my friends, Beximus here!
Do you remember playing a videogame called Theme Hospital back in the 90’s? If you didn’t, the dev team who put out that title is back with Two Point Hospital! Let’s dive in and discover more.
Two Point Hospital is on point
When I opened the latest Official Playstation Mag and read the news that, a game called Two Point Hospital, was coming to consoles I got sooooo happy! Why? Because I loved playing Theme Hospital in 1997 and this one is exactly the same, only with a 2019 dress. Revamping a game with a different name that looks exactly the same is a good way to avoid calling it a remaster. Or maybe they don’t like videogames that start with “Theme” or “Sim” anymore. But honestly, who cares?
If you love sim games and never heard of these two titles, I consider you a lucky person. Because you’re in for a treat! Check the official Two Point Hospital website and you’ll have a few laughs. It’s guaranteed!
How does it work?
The premise is simple. You’ll be in charge of running a hospital, manage finances and treat tons of sick patients. In the ancient Theme Hospital game, there were plenty of funny sicknesses to treat. The one I remember the most, was the bloaty head. It basically consisted in people coming in to be treated of a… swollen head! Like, massive!… Huge!… Bigger than a balloon 🙂 It was so funny!
So, when I was reading about Two Point Hospital and saw they were keeping these weird and funny diseases, I knew it was time to investigate further and learn more about this promising title (I mean the consoles version; it has been out for PC since August 2018). One of those weird conditions to treat is, the Clown Disease. People will enter the door of your hospital to be treated of… being clowns LOL!
There are other funny illnesses that were recently released, the latest ones being Cubism, Light-Headedness and Pandemic. Check them out bellow, it’s so cool! But let me warn you, there are much more 🙂 Keep scrolling down and you’ll see it on the trailer.
The world needs more funny games and less shooting
You probably came across me talking about FPS games in previous blogs. I have nothing against FPS games, they just don’t make my style. Playing videogames where shooting other humans is the highlight is not fun for me, but it might be for you. We can’t all like yellow, I get that. There’s only a few FPS games that I’ve tried such as Destiny, and… and… Destiny 2. Yeah, guess that’s pretty much it.
Anyway, my point here is, the videogames industry needs to inject more talent into funnier and lighter videogames. Less violence, more chillness. There, I said it! I could make a big list with some of those games, but let’s leave that for another time. It’s insane how much violence and shooting and killing devs have to use in new videogames for them to be highly sellable.
We can all shoot and bang every now and then, but tell me this: how many games have you played recently that haven’t involved killing someone, shooting at stuff or invite you to be violent to get what you need to progress? If 30 seconds pass and you can’t reply, you know what I mean.
So play more Yonder: The Cloud Catcher Chronicles or meet Freddy Mercury here at your hospital, but play more games that build things, that have a slower pace or that make you chill. You’ll feel different, I assure you.
Coming to consoles… erm, soon
In its own way, Two Point Hospital is a trip down memory lane. Or maybe it’s not for most players using it. But from what I’ve checked, more than 90% of the gamers are very satisfied with the result. And thanks to that, at least I believe so, the game is coming to consoles (PS4, XBox One & Switch) later this year (a release date has not been confirmed yet).
